Alex brings together a colection of previously unreleased, 'homeless' tracks to form the 'Homeless Recordings' ep, his latest release on Stray. Very much an organic affair, the ep continues Alex's current interest in building soundfields from acoustic objects/recordings, using looping and overdubbing, etc. There are some big sounds made by little things here. Includes a bonus live set from a recent London show. Get in.

Thee Moths is the name visual and sound artist Alex Botten performs under. Alex is no stranger to us, being a member of Señor Citizen, but this is his first release as Thee Moths with us.

STRAY056 Interstitial II Mutate (Bordicott) continues the Interstitial series of releases with a live recording and rehearsal from 2013. The set was performed for Max (Pram) Simpson's Interzone night, and the preceding rehearsal is included as an example of how improvised music is constantly changing. Live, Bordicott works to a general conceptual framework, but follows no strict timeline or rules. The live set was initially meant for Andy (Cities Prepare For Attack!) Cooke's Freak Revival...

Compsey Tribunal's first single, originally released as TAR023 in 2001. TAR eventually became SR. Apart from being Compsey's debut release, the single is also notable for the inclusion of Compsey's sole track with vocals, 'Impressing Jodie Foster'. It was the first release on the Stray Recordings label.

Latest release from Jamie Wyld's project, Parasite Unit. 'Sex Life Work Death' examines modern Western culture with Jamie's trademark acerbic wit. Four tracks of audio perversity, violence, rage and beauty. File under uneasy listening.

Third SR release from MUTATE (Ade Bordicott), this EP drifts from feedback-laden dub to sublime soundscapes, via noise experiments and dark collage.

Debut release from Ade Bordicott's solo project, MUTATE. This EP drifts from sunny electronica to claustrophobic noise pieces, gradually piling on the intensity and paranoia.

Nation of Soul was a band Mark C sang and played guitar for, whilst in Compsey Tribunal. Little else is known about the band, as no one can remember - even the song titles are lost forever. We saw them live once, at the Flapper and Firkin, Birmingham. It was a good night. Forgetfulness aside, we felt it important that this album be heard, and so here it is, in all its' glory. Recorded in 2003, this is a great album, and the fact that Mark took some of the ideas here with him to PRODUCT is...

We always loved this band - this is their one and only release. Lovingly remastered, this album sparkles from start to finish. One of our faves!

Finally, Compsey Tribunal's debut album is remastered and available for your listening pleasure. Recorded back in 2002, this statement of intent showcases the band's ability to shift through genres, from alternative rock to bass-led grooves; from mutated reggae to achingly melodic atmospherics. Employing Motown-like production values, Compsey had a distinctive, almost lo-fi sound, without ever resorting to primitivism.

Thrash behemoths from the Black Country.A real progression from their first release. With the band now folded, we can only wonder at how far they could have gone.

Second release from MUTATE. This is a one-take improvised guitar drone, which shifts around so as to be constantly developing, whilst always maintaining its 'form'. Roiling and intense, it begs to be played very loudly. Close your eyes and this thing steals time.

A slab of disgust aimed firmly at the world we live in, Cascade's debut release should make you blister in most places. Seriously. They have blowtorches and want to use them.

As far as we are aware, this is the only recording this Stourbridge indie rock trio released and even then, only to friends and family. Recorded in 1998, this EP is brimming with quality tunes, energy and intelligence. The band folded when the drummer went to university and eventually the guitarist/singer, Mark C, joined Compsey Tribunal. We know nothing of the fate of the other band members.

PRODUCT forgot to give this out at gigs, or leave it in Charity shops. Lifted from a rehearsal tape, it was deemed good enough to get the tunes heard, before a 'proper' recording was produced. As it happens, that recording didn't materialise, so this is it. They infiltrated Public Toilets and Public Libraries with it, spreading it like a rash.

Debut release from Visible Universe is a new project of Alex Charles and Ade Bordicott, melding vocal and processed guitar drones to build lush, panoramic soundscapes. In at the deep end, performances are completely improvised and recorded in one take. This release is taken from their very first VU session.

Taken from a very early CT session, 'Drill and Preparation' includes material never before heard outside of our archive. An early version of 'Would you like to sleep with me' is here, along with unique improvisations such as 'Tallulah Gristle No New Taxes'. The raw, early CT sound.

Second release from Visible Universe, this is their live debut at Cafe Ort. As ever, a completely improvised set, showing their ability to create sonic vistas at will. This session is heavy.
